24th Sunday of the Year

The gospel began with a discussion on Jesus’ identity and the disciples seem to be caught up in their own comfortable relationship with him. We might ask to what extent they, or we ourselves, understand the consequences of following Jesus. The disciples walk with Jesus towards Caesarea Philippi a city considered to be notorious, scandalous, shocking, and decadent.

We are super excited that Aselu O’Brien, Gitty and Marion will be joining the Edmund Rice Centre for Justice and Community Education in Sydney from mid-October to the end of November. Aselu is a draftsman for the Tuvalu government and a climate advocate, Gitty is an incredible photographer and works as the comms officer for the Tuvalu Climate Action Network (TuCAN)and Marion is the climate change officer for Fusi Alofa, the main Tuvaluan organisation advocating on disability-related issues.
