Join us in calling on Senators to reject the Migration Amendment (Removal and Other Measures) Bill 2024

This Bill, introduced by the Australian Government on 27 March, has passed the House of Representatives and is now in the Senate, where it has been referred to a Senate Committee inquiry projected to report back on 7 May. If the Bill becomes law, it will have very significant impacts on human rights and Australia's international reputation. It is also likely to contravene the International Convention and Protocols on Refugees to which Australia is a signatory.

Please email your Senators now and ask them to reject the Bill in its entirety. You can use the template provided or better still, use your own words. For more information and to take action please click HERE. Thank you.

Justice Reflections From Fr. Claude

Sixth Sunday of Easter

Solidarity is the kind of presence that costs you something.

Cole Arthur Riley

Humankind has not woven the web of life.

We are but one thread within it.

Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.

All things are bound together.

All things connect.

Lest we forget

Today we remember those fallen, their families and loved ones- men and women, black and white. We honour them for the sacrifice of their lives for our benefit and privilege of living in a peaceful country. We remember the lessons and horrors of past wars in the hope that we have learnt the value of peace in the world, in our communities and between each other. We honour the spirit of Anzac- the selflessness, the friendship, the courage, the resilience, the hope, the self sacrifice for the common good.
