Support Our Torres Strait Project
The Edmund Rice Centre's Pacific Calling Partnership team has been invited by Traditional Owners in the Torres Strait to visit the islands of Saibai and Boigu, in order to help build grassroots climate leadership and strengthen the links between Torres Strait climate leaders and those in the Pacific.
Like the Pacific nations of Kiribati and Tuvalu, the islands of the Torres Strait are on the frontline of destructive climate impacts that could force their inhabitants out of their homelands. However, to our knowledge climate leadership training has not occurred before in the Torres Strait. This project is dear to our hearts and we need your help to make it happen.
