Big thanks to everyone who joined us to farewell our wonderful I-Kiribati and Tuvaluan climate fellows 10 days ago, an event kindly hosted by the Western Sydney MRC. Huge congratulations to all our Fellows- Miriam Moriati Koae , Robert Karoro , Rabwena Ieete , Aselu Lopati Yee Qitty and Marion Fafili Faleasiu on the completion of the Australian-based component of your DFAT Pacific Climate Fellowship.
We would also like to recognise the outstanding work of our project team- Project Officer Rosaline Parker who organised and had oversight of the Fellows' 6-week schedule in Australia (no small feat!) - Rose- you did a beautiful job with dedication, heart and humility and we love having you working with us - our Senior Manager Advocacy and Research Corinne Fagueret and our Director 'Alopi Latukefu.
Thank you also to every organisation and individual who gave of their time to support the Fellows during their stay. There are too many of you to name but you know who you are and we are incredibly grateful and honoured to have had your support.
Last but not least thank you to the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for your support of this program. It has been a hugely fulfilling and impactful experience to host the Fellows in Australia and we are looking forward to working alongside them and our partner organisations on their in-country climate projects in the first half of 2025.
Ko rab'a and Fakafetai Lasi!
