Our international partners the Kiribati Climate Action Network (KiriCAN), Edmund Rice International and Franciscans International, prepared a submission to the United Nations Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review of Kiribati. 

The Human Rights Council session is taking place in Geneva from 20-31 January 2020. 

ERC Director Phil Glendenning delivered the 2019 Annual Tasmanian Peace Trust Lecture. The Trust established the Annual Peace Trust Lecture in 1991. Special guest lecturers speak on peace-related themes.

The Edmund Rice Centre, in partnership with the Iraqi Australian University Graduates Forum, is organising the Iraq Now Panel Discussion to reflect on the current human rights situation in Iraq. The discussion will focus on Iraq’s current security situation, human rights challenges, minority issues, political instability, refugee rights and returnee difficulties.
