Fincorp: yet another failure
On March 26, Fincorp announced that it was voluntarily handing over to receivers, Kordamentha. After its preliminary investigations into the reported tangled web of finances, Kordamentha warned that between $100 and $150 million owed to 7800 investors may never be recovered. The deal has finally been brokered between James Hardie and asbestosis victims' groups, the Unions and the NSW Government with agreement from the Federal Government to allow the payments from James Hardie to the Asbestos Injuries Compensation Fund (AICF) to be tax deductible.
