ABOUT US

The Edmund Rice Business Ethics Initiative, launched in 1991, exists to promote a conversation between business and the community on values and ethics: promoting life humanly in our businesses, our communities, our planet. It aims to create a space where these issues can be discussed and researched in mutually supportive ways. It seems to promote better communication for the sake of better outcomes for us all.

A Stern Report
While the Stern report seems to be mobilising a further sector of world and Australian opinion –a partial good outcome in itself– the measures needed to respond to the threat will be more expensive and more dislocating the later we leave them and they will need to be more drastic if they are to avoid the worse predictions made by the reports. It is highly likely, for example, that the Great Barrier Reef will be permanently and severely damaged just by the 1C° rise that is already inevitable. We are already experiencing the worst drought in Australia's history, with the fifth driest month on record in a row.

In short, they want to work for an ethical company.
