The IR pot still simmering
IR is still firmly on the political agenda. The ALP has made its IR policy public, a leaked document from the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) provides evidence of one employers’ body pushing for even further changes to WorkChoices, the States are brush-ing up their legislation on a number of fronts and there are a number of protests that tem-porary work visas are being used to drive wages down rather than make up the shortfall in skills. < Click for more> |

Last issue we looked at types of Codes of Conduct. In this, we continue to look at some of the details behind Codes of Conduct, courtesy of two recent events. The Horticultural Sector say they have been promised a mandatory code and now the Government says that the existing voluntary one is working well.
