The Edmund Rice Business Ethics Initiative, launched in 1991, exists to promote a conversation between business and the community on values and ethics: promoting life humanly in our businesses, our communities, our planet. It aims to create a space where these issues can be discussed and researched in mutually supportive ways. It seems to promote better communication for the sake of better outcomes for us all.

An ethical case study for MBA students before school starts
119 candidates to premier MBA schools in the USA have been discovered attempting to look into their files illicitly to discover whether they would be accepted or not. Many of them have been rejected because of it.

Boeing moving the ethical bar, but up or down?

Harry Stonecipher, CEO of Boeing was ousted on February 28th for having an extramarital affair with another Boeing employee. There seems to be little suggestion of either sexual harassment or preferment in this case as it was in the Bendix case 25 years ago. Here the ethical issue seems to be maintaining high personal and professional ethical standards; standards that Stonecipher himself claims to have raised.

How ethical are drug companies? US Public and top executives disagree.

Recent surveys in the US show a striking disparity between the perceptions of upper management of drug companies of their company’s ethical behaviour and the the general public’s perceptions of those companies’ ethics.
