Chris was the CEO of Colonial First State from 1990 until 2003. During this period the company grew from a start up operation to become Australia's largest investment manager. In September 2006 Chris joined Social Ventures Australia (SVA), an Australian-based not-for-profit organisation that works with innovative non-profit groups to increase their growth and impact to drive transformational social change. Within SVA he held the position of Executive Director until May 2009, after which time he became Chairman of the SVA Capital Fund. Chris will talk about his experiences as a leading investment manager and how he came to see how making a profit and making a difference can go together, it's just a question of holding all your values together. Making a difference is possible but it requires time and investment: don't leave it too late. |
